Mid day Tide | 12 JUN 2010 | »» | | Vice Commodore'sRally. Whitehaven during their sea festival weekend of the 25th/27th June., The festival starst on the Friday 25th so anyone thinking of coming maybe should come on the Thursday. Also on the Friday there's always a lot of the bigger boats arriving a couple of hours either side of the high tide times, and not really a good time to arrive in a yacht.
If the one I attended last year is anything to go by all those intending to come must book a berth, this could be done two ways either direct through the berthing master in the marina (jennajones@whitehavenmarina.co.uk)
or contact me at least a month prior and I'll sort it, I will be trying the get some discount over the weekend for MOA members.

| 25/27 June 2010 | »» | | Tall Ships Hartlepool
Tall Ships Race, Hartlepool 7th to 10th August. Over 60 ships are registered already including 19 class A vessels (all square rigged vessels and all other vessels over 40m length) Tthe best time to see the ships under sail will be the afternoon of Tuesday 10th August when the fleet will leave the harbour and marina for the ‘Parade of Sail’. They will sail across the bay south east from Hartlepool, past Seaton Carew and the mouth of the Tees. The views from the shore should be spectacular, and other small craft are welcome to watch from out at sea.
Some visitor berths are available to book in Hartlepool Marina where the Class B, C and D ships will be berthed. At the time of writing visitor berths were also available at Royal Quays marina, Sunderland marina, and Whitby, all within a reasonable sailing distance of Hartlepool. . There are no hotel rooms at all left in Hartlepool. But there are excellent road and rail links from all directions to Hartlepool so you can stay at one of the other towns or harbours and come in the Hartlepool for the event.
Also10th of August is your Macwester North East rep’s birthday! If you would like to meet up for a birthday Mac-picnic and watch the Tall Ships while we celebrate on the 10th, let me know by the middle of June and I will get back to you with details. For a full run down on the Tall Ships event, you can find more on the web at…
